Riverwood Bridal is an independent bridal boutique located at 6 High Street, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, HR9 5HL, in the beautiful Wye Valley. We welcome brides from Ross-on-Wye and surrounding areas including Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire, Worcestershire, the Forest of Dean and the Cotswolds.

We offer a carefully selected range of wedding dresses and bridal gowns, including contemporary, modern, classic and vintage-inspired styles. We also have a unique genuine vintage wedding dress collection for brides looking for something with history, character and individuality.

Do you sell vintage wedding dresses?

 

Yes. Our Memory Lane Collection includes genuine vintage wedding dresses and retro-inspired designs. Each vintage gown has its own history and character, and we can discuss alterations or modernising the dress while respecting its original design.

Do you offer bespoke wedding dresses?

 

Yes. Our bespoke wedding dress service allows you to work with us to create a gown designed specifically around your style, ideas and wedding vision. We can explore fabrics, silhouettes, sleeves, skirts, overlays and other details to create something genuinely personal.

How long does a bespoke wedding dress take to make?

 

We generally recommend allowing at least six months before your wedding date for a bespoke wedding dress. If your wedding is sooner, please contact us before booking so we can discuss what may be possible.

Do you offer wedding dress alterations?

 

Yes. We offer professional wedding dress alterations and bridalwear alterations carried out in-house. Alterations can include fitting adjustments, reshaping, shortening, adding or removing details and other changes needed to achieve the perfect fit.

Can you alter a wedding dress I bought somewhere else?

 

Yes. We can provide an alteration consultation for a wedding dress purchased elsewhere. We’ll assess the gown, discuss what you would like changed and provide advice and a no-obligation quote and estimated timeframe for the work required.

Can you restyle an existing or vintage wedding dress?

 

Yes. Wedding dress restyling is one of our specialist services. An existing or inherited gown can sometimes be transformed with changes to the shape, fabric, lace, sleeves, neckline, train or other details. We can help you explore the possibilities and create a dress that feels more suited to you.

Can you alter my mother's or grandmother's wedding dress?

 

Absolutely. An inherited wedding dress can be incredibly special, and we can explore ways of restyling and altering a vintage or family wedding dress while preserving its sentimental value. Depending on the gown, it may be possible to modernise the design, alter the fit or incorporate parts of the original dress into a new design.

Do you offer off-the-peg wedding dresses?

 

Yes. Our off-the-peg wedding dress collection is particularly useful for brides with a shorter timeframe or a more limited budget. Dresses in this collection are available to take home on the day and are priced from approximately £250–£1500.

Can an off-the-peg wedding dress be altered?

 

Yes. An off-the-peg wedding dress can still be altered and restyled to create a much more individual fit and look. This can be a great way to achieve a more bespoke feel without commissioning a completely bespoke gown.

Do I need an appointment to visit Riverwood Bridal?

 

We recommend booking an appointment so we can give you our full attention and make your visit relaxed and personal. We also offer a free introductory appointment for brides who would simply like to meet us, browse the collections and find out whether Riverwood Bridal is right for them before committing to a full consultation.

How long is a wedding dress appointment?

 

Our main bridal consultations are generally two hours, giving you plenty of time to discuss your wedding, explore different styles and try on gowns without feeling rushed. We also offer shorter introductory appointments and specialist consultations.

What if I don't know what style of wedding dress I want?

 

That's absolutely fine! You don't need to arrive knowing your neckline, silhouette or exact style. Your appointment is an opportunity to explore different wedding dress styles, fabrics and silhouettes with guidance along the way. We can help you discover what you love rather than expecting you to already know.

Do you offer bridal accessories and wedding dress styling?

 

Yes. Our bridal accessories and styling consultation can help you find the finishing touches for your wedding outfit, including veils, hair accessories, jewellery and other bridal accessories.

Do you offer bridesmaid dress alterations?

 

Yes. We provide bridesmaid dress alterations, with fittings available at the boutique.

Do you alter Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom outfits?

 

Yes. We also offer occasionwear alterations, including alterations to Mother of the Bride, Mother of the Groom, prom and other special occasion outfits.

Do you offer wedding dress cleaning?

 

Yes. Following your wedding, we can discuss wedding dress cleaning, repairs, boxing and preservation to help keep your gown in beautiful condition for years to come. We can also discuss options for restyling or repurposing the dress.

Can my wedding dress be turned into something else after my wedding?

 

Potentially, yes. We can discuss wedding dress repurposing, including transforming parts of your gown into something meaningful such as a christening gown, sentimental home décor or even a memory bear.
